According to the definition in Brazilian Standard NBR-13370, nonwovens are flat, flexible, and porous structures, made by veils or sheaths of filaments or fibers, oriented at random or in a single direction, clustered together by mechanical (friction), chemical (bonding), thermal (cohesion) methods, or by a combination of these. They are widely used in the most diversified applications for their versatility, suitability, and competitive cost.
In the automotive industry, our fibers may be found in thermal and sound insulation, molded parts, car roofs and doors, seat cushions, filters, and many other vehicle parts.
In civil construction, fibers may be used as asphaltic systems overlay, in waterproofing concrete slabs, roofs, and underground structures, as well as for the thermal and sound insulation of walls and ceilings.
Among household applications, Ecofabril fibers may be found in cleaning cloths, under carpet liners, carpets, curtains, blankets, tablecloths, shades, mattress and upholstery spring covers, plastic laminate substrates for furniture, among many others.
Fibers can also be used in products for filtering solids or liquids, such as in exhaust hoods and fans, sleeve filters, and components for filtering cutting fluids used in machining.
